OpenAI has been busy adding and expanding its ad platform, ChatGPT Ads. OpenAI sent out an email yesterday announcing a new Overview tab and that it has expanded to Japan and South Korea.

OpenAI is rolling out Audiences as a targeting option within ChatGPT Ads. I don’t see a help document on what this does but I assume it lets you set up better targeting for your ads by uploading audience lists, like their email and/or phone numbers to the ChatGPT Ads platform.

ChatGPT Ads Can Generate Ads For You

OpenAI’s ad platform, ChatGPT Ads, is now using AI (I guess) to generate ads for you. The ad platform lets you click on “add new ad,” which then says, “Generated ads for you,” and then lets you review, edit, and approve that generated ad.

ChatGPT Ads Drops Sponsored Label For Ad Label

OpenAI has dropped the “Sponsored” label on its ChatGPT Ads for an “Ad” label. The position of the label also moved from the top left of the ad box to the right side of the individual ad unit.

ChatGPT Ads Conversion-Optimized Campaigns Coming June 5th

Similarweb: ChatGPT Shows More Links Leading To 150% Increase In Referrals

New data out of Similarweb says that since OpenAI began surfacing more prominent links to brands in the ChatGPT answers, referral traffic is up 150%. Also pageviews per visit is up 24% and time on site is up 11%.

OpenAI Releases ChatGPT Ads Manager Updates & Ads Tests

OpenAI sent out an email a couple of days ago to advertisers announcing three updates to the ChatGPT Ads manager and new ChatGPT Ad experience updates. ChatGPT Ads Manager can now handle daily budgets, geo-targeting, and list view totals.

OpenAI / ChatGPT Has A Web Cache

OpenAI’s ChatGPT web search feature does offer a web cache, an offline, locally stored version of web pages that have been previously crawled. This should not come as a surprise, as all search engines store cached versions of web pages (even if they don’t show it to us).
