Hey guys, i do alot more reading (listening) here than talking ….there;s a wealth of knowledge and expereince on this board ….thank you! I’m now int the process of mixing/mastering my own music …this will be my 3rd project..so as far as level goes i feel little pressure. i been following the thread on levels where the point was made that “massaging the mix” allows for more level and i agree, it only makes sense that the more evened out the program freq gets the less it spikes a limiter

new vst idea – a winamp style media player that can be run as a vst/vsti

i was just thinking about this, and i think itd be pretty cool to have a vst plugin that could essentially be just like winamp and run inside your audio host, so i can have them both open right there and not have to go through the cumbersome process of turning the asio sound off in winamp, opening ableton live, turning the sound on every time i have an idea, which by the time its all up and running i have forgotten it anyways or am no longer motivated to do it anymore, and as a byproduct, it would be great for sampling, making the process much quicker and simpler, and allow you to put effects on the audio without using the winamp vst bridge thing which can only run one plugin at a time anyways, which is not a problem with bidule, but still i hope that this would happen, personally id just like to have winamp as is in it, no extra fancy features or anything

We have: Mac dual G5 Digi 192 (16 analog ins, 8 analog outs, digital IO card) ProControl Board a bunch of outboard pre’s, compressors, etc The goal is to be able to create sends to hit the outboard gear from Pro Tools. Exactly what do I need, and exactly how do I do it? Also, in the Mac is one HD Core card, and two HD Process cards.
