Hey FP, Ive got Logic 9 and Ableton 7 and Im a tad confused on something that I think should be fairly easy.

How do you guys find the tempo of a sample?

I mean, it’s easy to find it approximately (down to 1 or 2 bpm) but I find that you need it very accurate for the sample to actually fit. Plus, with many old songs that weren’t recorded to a click track, the tempo seems to always change. How do you guys deal with this stuff?

Fist of all what causes this? (when you change the tempo but then when you hit play it changes back to the original tempo of the imported midi file), and secondly how do you disable/sort it out?
