is LtRt for TV dead?

hey, why do we still output LtRt stereo mixes for TV shows? i mix TV dramas, that go to air in digital so we make a dolby E 5.1 mix and a stereo that is generally a analogue encoded LtRt. surely no one actually listens to the decoded analogue dolby surround mix, everyone who wants to listen to the show in surround is listening to the digital 5.1 mix.

Cheap Soundcard Digtal out, does it matter with great conversion?

Hey All, I own a Benchmark DA which I enter into via Optical SPIF from my cheap $20 sound card out the back of my PC. So I am wondering would it benefit me to get something like the Lynx AES PCI card if I am only looking for a sonic upgrade via the AES out rather than the cheap sound card. The Main question here…does the digital part of the chain really matter if you have a solid DA??

Upgrade from Firebox as digi in

Just looking for a few starter tips…I’ve used the Presonus Firebox for ages…initially as preamp and interface but now hooked to ART mpa Gold…the Firebox just acts like the digital in to my PC.
