Acoustic Guitar Test – Your thoughts?

Heya, I am working with a folk artist, and we are looking to capture acoustic guitar tones similar to Damien Rice and Jon Foreman. I am pleased with the overall quality; however, I feel that the guitar should have more body.

AKG C414 BULS vs. XL-II?

Just found out that one of my friend’s dad is an acoustical engineer who runs an industrial noise control business. We were using their workshop/warehouse for a band rehearsal and so I got to have a peek at some of the stuff they make. Turns out they were working on a batch of very nice looking industrial-grade absorption panels…

Door isolation treatment

Hey guys, just about to attempt to treat my door as there is quite an offensive amount of sound leaking through even though its quite a thick fire door anyway. The partition wall to divide to rehearsal rooms was built with 1 layer of plaster board, 75mm/3inch 45kg rockwool and another layer of plaster board. This is helping to significantly recude the noise bleed but the door is still an issue.
