Simple Glyn Johns Question about Overhead

trying this method for rec drums…all diagrams and photos dont show me if the overhead goes directly over the snare or AIMED at the snare and kick from the mounted toms? Some diagrams seems to show the overhead in the middle of the two mounted toms…..as opposed to more over the snare….which is it please? thank you
