Akai GX-4000d reel to reel, problem!

Hi, I just got this Reel to reel tape recorder, it seems to work well exept I can’t find a mic that works with it. I know the impedance is 600 ohms so I tried several mics with that spec, with an on and off button though so maybe not dynamic as it should be, it doesn’t work, I mean if I puff or shout the Vu meters reacts but badly with a scratchy low sound. I read on the manuel that the mic should be 0,25mv wich is actually hard to find, I didn’t so far

more spectralis sounds – need your ears

I’m still struggling with the low end but I think my mixes are starting to sound a bit better. If you guys can listen to these sound bits and let me know how they sound in your system it’d be great. jazzy dub techno speckie patterns This was all done on the spectralis btw (+ space designer and echoboy as sends and logic plugs on the master)
