Maybe I’m having a run of bad luck, but in the last few weeks I’ve bought 2 pieces from GC found on their used gear web site.

Looking for direction on over all mixing; volume.
May 10, 2010 Recording
So i’ve searched and seen tons of questiosn regarding volume levels, compression levels, etc, when mixing beats. I’ve been doing this for about 8 years and I still am never satified w/ the volume I get out of my completed production. It seems when I mix low, and try to stay under the red or 0, the beat is way to quite and lacks volume when compared to other beats out there, and when I “attempt” to compress and/or bring the volume up, my beats still don’t seem to hit and/or seem as loud compared to others.

We’ve had a number of people ask how the Royer SF-12 stereo ribbon mic got its name. Do you know the answer? Care to take a guess
