Is Mac worth it anymore?

I bought my Dual 2 gig mac power pc in 06. After all the memory, 10k rpm hard drives, bells and whistles, i spent almost 5k, which equates to $1,250 a year to use the mac(i won’t even get into the fact that they dusted me right after i bought it with the intel switch) With these new intel 7’s, I can build a Pro tools LE specific pc with 8 cores for about $1,500!, and if i use it for 4 years, it’ll be $375 a year! I love the mac OSX(although i’m cut off at 10.5.8) I’m kinda POed about itgrrr
