What advice would you give me on getting this guitar sound (in regards to equipment and mixing – panning, eq, compression, limiting, digital clipping?, number of tracks etc.)? I was listening to a friends mix the other day, and it seemed to me that I could hear the bass track in the left ear in the mix, I’ve always been told bassy sounding instruments need to be in the middle to give it time to develop.

Glyn Johns OH Placement Quick Question

trying this method for rec drums…all diagrams and photos dont show me if the overhead goes directly over the snare or AIMED at the snare and kick. Some diagrams show the OH mic over the edge but center of the mounted toms? Some diagrams seem to show the overhead in the middle of the two mounted toms…..as opposed to more over the snare….which is it please?
