Using Stereo Projects C1 for classical ensembles?

I own a pair of Studio Projects C1s and I was wondering if these are suitable for recording large ensembles, like string quartets and the like. I know that these are usually used for spot miking and the like, so I was thinking of selling one and buying a stereo pair like the C4s. Would this be a good move?
