Step up from MBOX pro 2

I have an mbox 2 pro which i want to sell and I’m looking to use my mbox 1 as just a dongle for pro tools 8 and replace the mbox 2 pro interface with something that has improved ADA converters and pre’s and just spdif that right into the mbox 1. Basically using the mbox for an over sized dongle. Any suggestions
