Multiple Standalones live
May 11, 2010 Recording
I have a feeling that this a newbish question, but I’m pretty new to MIDI. Our piano player runs through Ivory standalone for a better piano sound live and now we want to add some nice organ pads at times (things not available in Ivory) with a different keyboard. Because I really think we could use it when recording, I’ve been looking at Kontact 4 as a possible purchase.

Ideal age for pop artist?
May 9, 2010 Recording
I’ve been looking to put together a female fronted pop project recently. Realistically what is the cutoff age for a commercial female singer? bearing in mind it’ll probably take 2yrs to bring anything to market.

Anyone ever work with a Soundtracs Sequel II?
May 7, 2010 Recording
Hiya all! I’ve been looking at getting a new live / location recording console and saw Tim at Studio Systems has a Soundtracs Sequel II for cheap… Now I’m quite the fan of the Soundtracs sound in general (I own a customized Solo Midi 16/8 which I love for studio work and occasionally use live) but can’t seem to find any info on this console, periodmezed Has anyone worked with this console or does someone know anything about it at all

So…. I’ve mixed a couple of indie shorts, features, and docs. I’ve been looking at IMDB and I’m convinced that the industry doesn’t have a standard to define the “final mix.” Just now I looked and have seen the following; re-recording mixer sound re-recording engineer dubbing mixer sound mixer (my credits..
