JAMin/Ardour on Unbuntu Studio vs. Ableton Suite 8 on Windows as a Mastering Computer

I record and produce tracks on a Desktop machine in my garage and then proceed to master them using Ableton on this laptop. I’ve looked into the Ubuntu Studio distro and its usage of JAMin for mastering, but I currently don’t have any *nix computer to test it on
