Hi everyone, I’m waiting for the next revision of the Mac Pro to upgrade my entire home-studio, and I’ve almost bought an RME Fireface UC last month after spending weeks reading everything that was readable about audio interfaces around 1000 euros.

Hi everyone, I’m waiting for the next revision of the Mac Pro to upgrade my entire home-studio, and I’ve almost bought an RME Fireface UC last month after spending weeks reading everything that was readable about audio interfaces around 1000 euros. Fortunately I hesitated because with the new Babyface there seems to be a rewrite of the TotalMix software which includes on-board reverb, which is a godsend for me. I’m just waiting for it to trickle down to other RME products

Source of Noise in Signal Chain?
May 6, 2010 Recording
Attached is a short sample of a vox recording I just did. The recording chain is simple: Quiet Room (less than NC20) RE-20 FMR RNP (phantom turned off) RME Multiface I’ve read the RNP is a bit noisy, and the RE-20 does demand quite a bit of gain. Is the noise in this recording about what you’d expect, or do I have a bad component somewhere?
