Driver updates for Pro Tools LE 8 w. snow leopard
May 11, 2010 Guitar, Recording
I’ve been having quite an issue the last couple weeks trying to get rid of the excess gain and OD signal on my guitar tracks. I’m getting a very dirty and gritty sound

+48v from 003+ to external preamp?
May 10, 2010 Recording
Hey, guys! This one is probably very silly, fell free to slag me big time
Is it possible to send phantom power from Digi 003+ to an external pre that doesn’t have +48v on board, like True Systems P-Solo (Ribbon version) if I ever decide to use that pre for condenser mic?

embedded battery in new MBPro
May 10, 2010 Recording
This from Apple’s website: To give the MacBook Pro the biggest battery possible without adding size or weight, Apple engineers eliminated all the parts required of a removable battery and embedded the battery into the notebook. This created enough space for a battery with significantly greater capacity — one that can run for up to 10 hours (8 to 9 hours on the 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro) on a single charge. and: With the MacBook Pro, Apple engineers have taken the radical step of eliminating the removable battery, and have embedded a battery with a capacity great enough to run for up to 10 hours on the 13-inch MacBook Pro (8 to 9 hours on the 15- and 17-inch models)

my cpu is hitting 120%. need help
May 10, 2010 Recording
So here’s my situation: I’m running Ableton on a 4 year old Pentium Dual Core with 2Gig of ram. My CPU is seriously overloaded! A typical track for me will have between 50-60 parts, and the bogging down occurs around the 30 part mark.

Power supply
May 10, 2010 Recording
Hi, When I switch on my PC at the mains socket before powering up, sometimes the power supply pop’s, the strange thing, is that it still works, is my power supply on the way out or do I have a larger problem, maybe with my electricity supply? Am a little worried as I don’t want the mobo to blow if the power supply finally goes bang

Inter-application audio software on MAC
May 10, 2010 Recording
I never used this type of software on Mac, which one to use? I searched Metric Halo forum , they suggest to use Soundflower with SpectraFoo. I have also heard about Audio Hijack Pro and Jack.

White Noise Burst
May 10, 2010 Recording
Hi, I’m experiencing something that, from my search in these forums, a lot of folks are experiencing on different platforms and DAWs. I’m getting the dreaded white noise burst at times. Not too often, but twice last night.
