White Noise Burst
May 10, 2010 Recording
Hi, I’m experiencing something that, from my search in these forums, a lot of folks are experiencing on different platforms and DAWs. I’m getting the dreaded white noise burst at times. Not too often, but twice last night.

PRO-TOOLS HD a must in a commercial facility?
May 10, 2010 Recording
In todays world of multi-core processors and super fast computers is PT HD really a must in a commercial facility? There are some many awesome DAW systems out there and file interchange is not a problem anymore, why have PT HD when you can offer a powerful Nuendo, Logic, the new Soundscape 6 or different solutions to your clients? Of course a trained operator must be included but why always pro-tools?

Best monitors for Electronic Music – Mackie HR824 Mk2 vs Dynaudio BM6A’s vs Adam AX7
May 10, 2010 Recording
Hi there! This is my first post, I’ve gone through endless threads looking for answers, but haven’t found answers to all my questions confoosed My budget is around $3000 AU ($2,600 US) for monitors and an audio interface. I mainly produce electronic music (DnB, Psytrance & Chillout) and don’t do much recording yet. I will be working on a Mac using Ableton Live 8, Reason 4, and either Pro Tools or Logic (don’t mind which I use)

Novation Automap issues with Logic Pro 9
May 10, 2010 Recording
So who is using a Zero SL mk2 as a control surface with Logic Pro 9 ? Having some difficulty with Automap Pro 3.4.1 and Logic 9 myself. All my plug-ins are automatically assigned and automap is working well –though some control movement can be a bit choppy.

keyboard recommendations for DAW setup
May 10, 2010 Recording
I’m currently using an M-Audio Oxygen 61 and would like to upgrade in the semi-near future. Here’s my setup: Mac Pro (2008) Apogee Duet Logic Pro 9, VSL, Komplete M-Audio Oxygen 61 KRK RP5s I got the Oxygen 61 initially because I needed something cheap with a good number of MIDI knobs/faders. I don’t need quite as many of those as I have now, but would want at least 5 or 6 in addition to the pitch bend and mod wheel.

Logic Bounce Weirdness
May 9, 2010 Recording
So this is strange. I bounced down a mix in Logic that was recorded and mixed at 24/44. I left about 6db of headroom in the mix, so I clicked the normalize box and converted to MP3 so I could email the track to a friend for feedback
