Trying to mix to mBox2: levels too hot

Ok, this is certainly due to my ignorance in the physics department, but I could use some help: I’m mixing from my Tascam M2600 mk2 desk into a MacBook Pro with a mBox2 as the mixdown two-track (allsihad). Or better, I’m trying to. No matter what I do I get the levels too hot
