FDW Corp Announces Audient’s Dual Layer Technology with ASP2802

FDW Corp is pleased to announce that Audient’s sleek, eight channel ASP2802 console was launched to much acclaim at MusikMesse 2010 in Frankfurt, combining classic analog features with extensive DAW integration and control. Heralding the arrival of Audient’s Dual Layer Technology, the ASP2802 fully integrates with the computer system, enabling the user to switch effortlessly between the analog layer – the traditional mixer path travelling through the console – and the DAW layer within the computer session. Behaving like no ordinary eight channel desk, the compact design of the ASP2802 also belies a fully functioning master section based on the design of the now classic ASP8024, and shares the same mic preamp topology and bus compressor design, not usually available on other such compact consoles.

Drum bus : SSL Duende vs SSL XLogic G compressor

I love what the Duende bus compressor does to the sound of my drum bus, very punchy! I’ve seen comparisons of Duende vs Waves, but never vs the hardware version, so : I realize that the price difference is quite high, but I was wondering how it compared with the hardware SSL XLogic G compressor. Would it make much difference if I put that on my drum bus vs the Duende version? Since the hardware uses a clear analog path (no tubes or transformers), it should introduce very little coloration.
