Dampening pads on electric drums
May 10, 2010 Recording
Just wondering if anyone knew of a good way of silencing the pads on my yamaha dd-55 electric kit? I use it for triggering samples in some stuff, and I wear headphones, but the sound of me whacking the pads with my sticks really carries, and I don’t want to disturb the neighbours! I know for acoustic kits & the rock band drums (or any large size electric kit) you can get silencer pads, but the pads on my yamaha are rather small. Is there any kind of DIY way I could silence them a bit

Producers with their own custom sound kits

Would you offer yours for sale as a downloadable kit? Or would you be against the fact that other niggas would be more easily copying your sound/style?

I have been asked by a friend’s band to mix their upcoming album, something I don’t really have much experience doing.

Sound Diver & Microwave XT
May 10, 2010 Recording
i finally got a copy of Sound Diver and figured out how to make it see my Microwave XT. I’ve looked online for a manual for Sound Diver but the only results i get are for seedy looking torrent sites that I prefer to avoid. I was wondering if any of you may have a copy of the Sound Diver manual or know of any online resources that may help with the creation of custom wavetables.

Would you say Lavry Black converters are a bit too clean for rock ?
May 10, 2010 Recording
I believe the answer could depend on your taste, but i would like to know if people use them for rock or maybe another kind of music which prefer no extra colour, just as true as the sound is. What converter would you recomend for rock or pop rock
