Hi. So, when sound leaves a speaker, is the sound at maximum velocity or maximum pressure? Thanks, Seamus

What mic did they use on McCartney’s guitar for Unplugged Show?
Hi Everyone, I’ve always loved the sound of Paul McCartney’s Unplugged recording, especially the acoustic guitars. Does anyone know what microphone they used on McCartney’s guitar

Harsh sound from an SPL Monitor & Talkback Controller?
May 8, 2010 Recording
I’ve been monitoring though SSL gear for the last few years but I’ve just got an SPL MTC for a new “ITB” studio I’ve setup. I’m still using my trusty Focal Twin6’s but when listening back to old mixes or just a plain CD the sound I’m monitoring is distinctly harsher and more brittle than it was through the SSL (I’m using the same D/A).

Alesis IO 26 with external pre-amp
May 6, 2010 Recording
Hey Folks! Do you know by any chance if it is possible to run an external pre-amp through the Alesis IO 26 without having the interface pre-amp affecting the sound?

Tornavoz, or O-port devices for recording guitars
Has anyone tried recording a guitar with a Tornavoz? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYzMp9uBrlo I am curious about the sound quality for recording.Apparently they heighten bass and sweet the highs, but at a cost in volume

Tracking out [sounds] that has a lot of FX
May 5, 2010 Recording
Hello, Question for engineers and those, What do you guys do when tracking out your sounds that has a lot of effects on it. Some of these effects are part and make the sound, so what do you guys do? Bypass it and add it on later (or try too) or is there a way to work around this?
