Adapt Your Black Rack To Fit API 500 Modules
May 10, 2010 Recording
FDW Corp announces that users of the revolutionary portable signal processing Black Series from Audient can now carry API 500 standard modules in their Black Rack system with the simple addition of the new Black 500 Adapter. Made up of a neat metalwork caddy which slips neatly into the Black Series BB4 and BR10 racks, it adapts the Black Series power to suit the API specification, so that any single 500-system compatible module can be housed alongside original Black Series modules.

Simple DIY project for beginner?
May 8, 2010 Recording
I have a nice long summer break from University coming up and I could do with a challenge. I’m looking into building my own outboard and I’m not particularly picky. As long as it’s relatively simple to produce, I don’t mind if it’s a compressor, EQ or mic pre.

API 2520H – any info/history/etc.
May 6, 2010 Recording
Hi, I bought a vintage API 550A that someone has replaced one of the two 2520 opamps with a 2520H – does anyone know anything about when these were made, what they were originally used for? their quality/sound or any other interesting facts they’d like to share?

For drum overheads, which is better? Great River MP500-NV or API 512c?
May 5, 2010 Recording
This question is for people who have used both pres for an drum overhead application. I’m in the market for a lunch box with pres, debating on whether I should go with 4 API 512cs or 2 API 512cs and 2 GR MP500-NVs. I’m 90% sure I’ll go with the versatile choice of API and GR combo but wanted to get some more feedback before pulling the trigger
