Grease for EQ sliders?

I just bought a Urei 530 off of eBay and the sliders are hardly moveable, if I use a ton of force I can get them all the way up, or all the way down, but I can’t move them smoothly. I tried some contact cleaner, but that didn’t help

Phantom Power problems

I wonder if anyone can help me with a phantom power related problem I’m having. I’ve recently bought an old 80s analogue desk (a MTR 12 to 8..very basic) and am simply running the desk’s outs into my Focusrite Saffire Pros line inputs. So technically just utilising the desks channel strips (which sound surprisingly good for a small desk!..nice and warm).

Simple DIY project for beginner?

I have a nice long summer break from University coming up and I could do with a challenge. I’m looking into building my own outboard and I’m not particularly picky. As long as it’s relatively simple to produce, I don’t mind if it’s a compressor, EQ or mic pre.
