I’ve read reviews on this obsolete product, but not 100% convinced. Is this unit worth buying for $300 to utilize with outboard gear – (Synths)

Cheap Soundcard Digtal out, does it matter with great conversion?

Hey All, I own a Benchmark DA which I enter into via Optical SPIF from my cheap $20 sound card out the back of my PC. So I am wondering would it benefit me to get something like the Lynx AES PCI card if I am only looking for a sonic upgrade via the AES out rather than the cheap sound card. The Main question here…does the digital part of the chain really matter if you have a solid DA??

Hey all, long time reader, first time poster here, I didn’t know where to post this but I’m looking to rebuild my studio. My house was robbed awhile ago and it’s time to get something started again. I only have ever recorded 8 tracks at a time, for drums mostly, so I was looking to get something equivilent to a presonus firepod to run into logic pro off a new mbp 15 inch
