Voice REverb Effect
May 10, 2010 Recording
I’m wondering how they got this effect heard here ( ie a big reverby echo) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiMDMmb_e68 Are the vocals going into the mic, then into some sort of effects processor, and then to the console? Or can something like this be done within the software well? I know garageband has “male rock” vocal effect but its pretty weak.

Audio Output What’s Good To Use?
May 10, 2010 Recording
I’ve been reading a lot, and will prob add some good monitor speakers to my home studio, but wanting to know what should my sound output go into , which in turn goes out to the monitor speakers? Currently I’m using an basic typical home stereo receiver to listen to the output. Thanks.

Pro Mixing
May 10, 2010 Recording
To mix like a pro, do I need to buy something like a controller that has faders on it, or can I mix well within the software using just my mouse? Do the pros mix while the song is playing? Thanks

Connecting Speakers w/diff ohms in 1 Amp?
May 10, 2010 Recording
Equipment: (1) JBL JXR 125 [500 W to 1000 W into 4 ohms] http://www.jblpro.com/catalog/genera…x?PId=91&MId=3 (1) Crown XTi 2000 [1000 W @ 2 ohms/800 W @ 4 ohms/475 W @ 8 ohms] http://www.crownaudio.com/amp_htm/xti.htm (2) Acoustic Audio Bookshelf Loudspeakers [700 W @ 8 ohms nominal] http://cgi.ebay.com/Acoustic-Audio-8…item255a9005a4 I currently have the JXR connected to the XTi via speakon cable on the right channel. What I want to know is if I can hook up the smaller bookshelf to the left channel on my XTi through pure copper wire/banana plugs (Series/Parallel Wiring) even though the two speakers are of different ohms?

…basically I’m a sucker for these mainstream bassy (is that even a word?) synth sounds. Say what you want, but it is what it is
