Studio build-out thread

Hey folks, I am finishing out my second studio space, thought I would post the progress from bare ground, so to speak. It’s a utility room in the front of my basement; 14′ X 14′ X 8′.

Basement studio going up… Video.. Questions

gonna build my studio in the basement, about 1100 sq feet i think, there is kinda a place for kitchen and bathroom, going to stuff 703 in the rafters and maybe use a fabric for ceiling, then hard wood floors. one problem i gonna have is the basement poles, and i only have 8000 save up now, gonna have to do and learn how to build it a lot on my own. i kinda want to build it like michael wagener design, but i do voice over work, so need one vocal booth, what do you guys think about the poles or a cool design i open to suggestions, thinking about taking out the stairs also…

Microphone for moist and moldy basement?

I’m thinking about making a little echo chamber in my basement. At the moment it’s really moist down there though, so I’ll be needing a mic that can handle rough conditions and still sound good as a room mic. I have an old Sennheiser MD211, a microphone that was supposedly used in the rescue of a group of mine workers trapped some 500 m below the surface in the late 50ies in Germany
