Business Networking
May 10, 2010 music production
I was just thinking about the process of making sales and thought networking would be a good topic to bring up. I’ve been producing music for quite sometime now and I’ve made a living in corporate sales for even longer. So, business networking is something that I am pretty familiar with.

The MC’s guide to getting tracked out beats.
May 9, 2010 Guitar, Recording, music production
make em yourself! in the short time that i’ve actually been registered here, it seems that the beatmakers are all in the “flip this” section, while the recording section is full of mc’s trying to mix their vocals on top of beats that they’ve bought. lets get one thing straight,..

Changing format of song to include electronic quirks
May 8, 2010 Recording
Hello, Generally speaking when I’m doing something with music, I know exactly what I’m doing. However, I just got a request for something I’ve never done before, which is in an electro-hip-hop song, he wants to me add little DJ scratches and rythym gates/rythym cuts to certain parts of his voice

If anyone has any tips, warnings, etc on moving one of these monsters any advice is appreciated. This will be going up one flight of stairs into a panel van then back up one flight of stairs it to it’s new home. I’ve read Dan Alexander’s summary on moving the unit but I’d like to hear some other people’s input as well

Home Studio Flood Help
May 6, 2010 Recording
I just wanted to make myself available to help out with fellow Nashvillians whose studios got flooded. Thankfully my residence and studio are both fine, but I know a lot of other people weren’t so lucky. If you have a studio in Nashville that was affected by the floods and need help, please contact me.

Mods–is this the correct forum to ask for feedback on songs?
May 6, 2010 Recording
I am working on a couple of tracks that I would like to get feedback on. I noticed that some folks post tracks here looking for advice, but then I see that there is a whole ‘nother forum supposedly for posting works in progress. So, is it okay to post tracks here (where all of the people who actually know something about electronic music are) or should I post them in the other forum

May 6, 2010 Recording
So I have one of these XPC C2 I’m shopping for a new interface and it had’nt even occured to me to consider the PCI and optical SPDIF I/O on my computer. I just assumed I would be looking for a new firewire interface. Are there options I should be considering given my PCs features?

May 5, 2010 Recording
Hello to all the Gearslutz I’ve been a Gearslutz lurker for long time and this is my first post. Well, i bought a Tascam US-2400 and i really like it, i’m already addicted and i can’t imagine to mix without it. I experienced a lot of problem to make it work properly and still i can’t use it with Ableton, since version 8 doesn’t work properly
