Hi everyone! I’m about to buy an Adat machine Alesis blackface for 65£. I want to use it to connect extra channels throught the adat port of my digi002.

003+ rack not supporting 96/24bit?
I created a thread last week concerning my Apogee Rosetta 800 converter. I thought it may have been busted because my distorted guitars were coming through extremely digital sounding… utter CRAP! I experimented around and bypassed all my pres and apogee converter all together and went DI into the 003+.

Logic 9 at 48khz, pros and cons?
May 8, 2010 Recording
Hi guys, Right ive found an annoying bug with my Apogee Duet (that I suspect everyone else has even if they haven’t noticed yet unless new models fix it) At 44.1khz theres an unreasonable amount of hiss at 48khz its reduced dramatically (although I still wouldn’t call it silent) unfortunately this happens both in the headphone port and on the master outs and is picked up very easily by my Adam A7X’s. Im obviously really disappointed with this, and I didn’t envisage using 48khz on my projects, I dont believe it would improve anything and I dont really want to waste the extra CPU cycles to do everything at 48khz. But if this hiss annoys me as much as it is, I dont have much choice in reducing it (bar getting another interface) So if I switch to 48khz projects how much impact will this have on my CPU (in percentage?) Also my entire sample library (which is huge) is at 44.1khz

Cubase 5 Crashes When Opening Particular Project
May 7, 2010 Recording
Man, I love Cubase 5…but I don’t love this issue. One very large file that I have not yet exported as separate files is now unopenable. All other projects are fine, but this one loads up, and then promptly crashes–Cubase just disappears…no icon visible, no warning

Sound Design Delivery Question?
May 7, 2010 Recording
So I’ve got a question for all you seasoned sound designers. How do you deliver, or how do you expect work to be delivered to the final mixer? I find there seems to be a gray area as far as my experience goes, as to whether I need to do more towards the final project’s mix goal.

In praise of the AT4033
May 6, 2010 Recording
I saw that Alan Parsons gives a shout out to the lowly AT4033. I second! This mic’s a real sleeper. Versatile– I’ve used my pair for everything over the years– and it takes lead vocal duty over my U87 for at least half my projects
