Weird gravely noise?

Last week, I ordered an SM58 to use for vocals and finally got it today (Absolutely love it, by the way). I hooked it up to the mixer my choral director is letting me borrow (A Behringer Eurorack UB802, and I believe it is one of the earlier models of it) and it was working fine for the first few hours of use.

Recording Software?

I want to make a studio, but I don’t have the money to build it all at once, I think I am going to start with the computer and build up from there, soo the first choice is Mac or PC. I can’t decide, I can see all the programs that PC can get, but my friends IMac had a built in mike that was pretty easy to record with just garage band, and the sound impressed me, also the simplicity is nice

Voice Disguise

Hello friends; I’m currently working on an assignment where I’ll need to disguise the voices of several informants for radio broadcast. Due to the highly sensitive nature of the material, a difficult to reverse engineer effect, while remaining intelligible, is key. Unfortunately, we don’t have the benefit of simply “demonizing” the voice and getting around it with subtitles like our friends on TV
