 I think it’s just me man, I just have some kind of issue with them To be honest with you, I’m not trying to have a love fest with the X2N but I think it’s one of the best pickups I’ve tried, I think that’s what makes a lot of other ones sound crappy to me. If you like loud, clear, tight, and aggressive you might want to try one. Then again, I’m sure there are a bunch of people who think they sound like crap I think the JB might be better suited for a mahogany body or something, I’ve only tried it in alder guitars

Feeling the Guitar
Okay, so I know this question is hated on this forum. The “How do i get this sound” question, especially with guitars, but i think this question involves alot more discusion then that! The tone I’m looking at is the guitar tone on Ronnie Day’s Outside (it appears on his album “The Album” a couple times but this is just the best example.) To my ear the guitars are really thin and panned hard left and right, but for some reason the fill out so much of the mix, I’m convinced that wasnt done with synths or keyboards too much. The guitar is felt! Do you think it’s a layering technique or is there some kind of frequency push?

I was going to post a general question a few weeks ago about this song & now I see the man responsible for recording it posts here so I’m hoping Eric see’s & responds to this question.

Rig-Talk • Re: Anyone else like dead strings?
May 9, 2010 Guitar
I hate the sound of new strings. I only change them when rust, intonation or breaking. I do the whole set almost always.
