ssd drives

Currently, I use my internal sata hard drive for stuff I’m working on at the moment, and an external usb hard drive as a “warehouse,” moving recording sessions there I’m not working on, then moving them back to the internal when I work on them… you get the picture. I was wondering if anyone uses ssd ’solid state’ hard drives and notices an increase in performance.

Software equivalent of TC Phoenix ME?

I have been quite interested in this compressor for the mix bus for dance/club music (and possibly vocals as well) but it’s way out of my price range at the moment. In the mean time, I was just wondering if there are any good software compressors that emulate the sound and/or behavior of this well-known comp to give me a feel for the type of sound it can deliver

analog mixing desk for electronic music around $2500.00

Hi everyone, I’m using Yamaha 01v96 at the moment.. It’s a great desk but I guess I started to be more sensetive to color of sound and at the same time experimenting with different set-ups made me realize that I do not need full recall of digital console after all (I can do it all in Cubase)… So I decided to look into analog boards and what available for around $2500.00 (plus/minus $500)..
