Getting my room sounding the best for live drums

Finally nearing the end of my studio construction (been going on for a year and a half now) I’ve got a live room of 15 x 20 with a cathedral ceiling to 12′, a flat span at the top of about 5′.

I got a job!

I know this is not necessarily the right place to post this, but I couldn’t figure which would be better. anyhow, I GOT A JOB!!! A few months ago, I asked a recording engineer in town who I’ve done projects in town with in the past if I could intern under him, he said yes, but it took until last week that I was actually in the studio. Half way through the sessions, he told me that, the person in control room B was going on a 5 month tour, and that he was going to rent it out to somebody and couldn’t find anybody.

Making the best out of a possible bad recording.

Ok, my bands going to record within the next month and badly need some advice. First off, Ill give you the 1st big problem – The band consists of bass, 2 lead vocals, 2 backing vocals, electric guitar, keyboard and various percussion – And we’ll be recording in an untreated room. I know exactly how important a treated room is – but I just dont see it being a possibilty in the next month.

Who poisoned the seas Who polluted the air Stop our incautious slipping Remembering to take care We have to clean up our room Or we can’t go outside It gets constantly filthy With the waste of mankind It’s doesn’t make any sense To talk paper and coin When we must keep our room clean Everything done today …

My room response graph

Changed a few things around in my studio in the last month or so, inspired by another thread in another forum I took a new measurement today. The room sounds great and from what I know about measurements the graph looks good

Acoustic nightmare!

Hi guys, I’m just launching my new studio and its opening in about 10 days hidz However, I seem to be struggling with the acoustics in my room. The control room is a large rectangle with angled ceilings meeting at a point in the middle.
