According to an article in the Wall Street Journal , Google CEO Eric Schmidt plans to introduce social-networking elements this fall in “layers” instead a full-on product that has been called Google Me. After it’s not-so-successful Wave project and Orkut’s inability to catch on in the States, the search empire decided to take a new approach to making its name in the social networking scene. Schmidt says they’re “trying to take Google’s core products and add a social component” and with the recent acquisitions of Slide, Angstro , and the $700 million offer for ITA.
