Google Cuts Ad Contracts in China as Search Share Drops Again

Google, which continues to lose search market share to rival Baidu in China, yesterday confirmed that they terminated the contracts of seven large AdWords resellers. Meanwhile, Google’s search market share in China dropped from 27.3 percent in the Q2 to 24.6 percent in Q3, according to Beijing research company iResearch.

Google Faces Spanish Lawsuit Over Street View Data Collection

Data protection officials in Spain have filed a lawsuit over Google’s collection of Wi-Fi data earlier this year as part of its Street View product. The Spanish Agency for Data Protection says it has evidence of five violations of Spanish law involving Google’s collection of SSID and MAC addresses from unencrypted Wi-Fi routers.

Google Simplifies Local Search Control
