Digg Launches “Newsrooms” in Private Beta

A little over a month ago, Digg  launched Newswire , a real-time, Top News section that attempted to get users back into curating the stories that go popular, versus just reading the popular stories showcased on the Digg front page. Yelp Hopes to Serve Grilled Google: Antitrust Hearing Today

This afternoon, Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt is expected to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee. The hearing, which is appropriately titled “The Power of Google: Serving Consumers or Threatening Competition,” will investigate whether Google has abused its monopolistic market dominance in the search and online marketing sector. During the hearing, the committee will question Eric Schmidt, Nextag CEO Jeff Katz, and Yelp co-founder Jeremy Stoppelman.

Facebook Update: New Facebook Updates

In addition to recently adding the Subscribe button and the new Friend List options, Facebook is introducing even more new options and updates. Late Tuesday afternoon, Facebook revealed an updated News Feed with new features and presented the brand new real-time Ticker. The News Feed, which will no longer simply show updates in chronological order, is combining the Most Recent and the Top Stories into one feed.
