Blogger Fined By French Court Because Negative Restaurant Review Was Too Prominent In Google

A French court has ordered a blogger to pay a substantial fine and change the title of a restaurant review because the review was too prominent in search results and harmed business at the restaurant. The post has since been removed but can be viewed here (via TechDirt)

Google+ Drops Real Name Policy, Promises To Smash Internet Trolls by @mattsouthern

Google admits that when they launched Google+ over three years ago there were a lot of restrictions on what name could be used on your profile. If you ask Google, they’ll say this was because it “helped create a community made up of real people,” but they’ll also acknowledge that people who wanted to be a part of the community were left out if they didn’t want to use their real name. Google+ even gave me a hard time with using my own real name.

Mobile: 34% of Organic Search, 42% of Social Traffic in Q2 [Report]

2014/07/16

RKG released its digital marketing report for Q2 2014 and found organic traffic comprised 31 percent of all website visits in Q2, and mobile traffic grew to make up 34 percent of those visits. Meanwhile, 42 percent of social visits came from mobile.
