Report: Click Fraud Rate Rises to 22.3% In Q3 2010

Google Will NOT Resume Wi-Fi Location Information Collection Using Street View Cars

In the wake of mistakenly collecting Wi-Fi payload informatio n, Google announced that they would no longer use their Street View cars to collect information on the locations of Wi-Fi networks. Yesterday, the company released a report on Street View and it stated that “collection is discontinued and Google has no plans to resume it.” The issue as to whether or not Google would find out why the cars were collecting the data, rectify it and than resume using the cars was up in the area since the discovery this summer, but this statement by privacy commissioner, Jennifer Stoddart, seems to lay it all to rest .

Google Tests “Shared by” and “Recent Updates” Features in News Results

Making good on their promises to add social layers to its search platform, Google has added “shared by” and “recent updates” links to the bottom of some of its results in Google News. The features, however, are merely tests as of right now and both Malcolm Coles and Barry Schwartz can view these features. According to their posts, the former “shared by” feature shows Googlers the amount of people that are currently sharing that exact link with others on sites like Facebook, Twitter, etc
