Jay Baer of Convince and Convert kicked off the final day of Pubcon as only he could, and luckily for him, three days in Las Vegas didn’t stop anyone from getting up early and packing the convention center. It may have been Vegas, a jam packed day 1, or a combination of both,but the exhaustion everyone was feeling at day 2 of Pubcon was tangible. However, that didn’t in any way affect anyone’s level of excitement, as everyone was just as eager to be there.
Legions of passionate marketers who eat, sleep, and breathe SEO, content, and social media filled the Las Vegas Convention Center today as Pubcon Las Vegas kicked off for its 15th consecutive year. Pubcon founder, Brett Tabke, began the event with an audience poll to find out how many Pubcon events everyone has attended. A handful of hardcore veterans have attended more than seven Pubcon events! In fact, the audience this morning was full of repeat attendees with the majority of the audience having attended at least one or two Pubcon events in the past.
Matt Cutts, Google’s head of webspam, made some important announcements as well as sharing some interesting insight into an upcoming algorithm change that will take effect by week’s end. Announcements Matt encouraged everyone to circle back and revisit Webmaster tools as many new features have been added to help webmasters everywhere. Here are a few of the things Matt pointed out: Fetch and Render as Googlebot – This feature has been added to show webmasters a thumbnail of what their page looks like to Google.
